Sarcoxie, MO (December 18, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision occurred on I-44 WB approximately one mile northeast of Sarcoxie, resulting in significant damage and injuries. Emergency responders promptly arrived at the scene to provide care to the injured parties.
The accident took place at around 10:09 AM in Jasper County and involved three vehicles traveling westbound. According to initial reports, the crash began when a 2005 GMC Envoy, driven by a 75-year-old woman from Poplar Bluff, MO, collided into the rear of a 2024 Ford Truck. The impact forced the Ford Truck into the rear of a 2025 Ford E450.
The drivers involved sustained various injuries. The driver of the 2005 GMC Envoy and the 51-year-old driver of the 2025 Ford E450 suffered injuries, while the 81-year-old driver of the 2024 Ford Truck sustained moderate injuries. All individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Emergency responders, including Mercy EMS, transported the injured to Mercy Joplin for further treatment.
All three vehicles sustained significant damage. The 2005 GMC Envoy and the 2024 Ford Truck were totaled, while the 2025 Ford E450 sustained moderate damage. Schrader’s Wrecker towed the vehicles from the scene. Authorities are investigating the sequence of events leading to the collision to determine the cause.
