Saratoga County, NY (October 3, 2024) – A tragic two-vehicle accident occurred on the Northway, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old woman from Rensselaer. The incident took place just before 5 PM on Tuesday, October 1, just north of the Exit 14 off-ramp, according to the New York State Police.
Reports indicate that Makenzie T. Minkler was driving a vehicle that flipped over several times following the collision. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Minkler was pronounced dead at Saratoga Hospital shortly after the accident.
In the aftermath of the crash, the northbound Exit 14 off-ramp and the right lane of I-87 northbound were closed for approximately four hours as authorities worked to clear the scene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
