Sapulpa, OK (January 12, 2025) – A tragic collision on the westbound Turner Turnpike near mile marker 214, approximately one mile west of Sapulpa in Creek County, claimed the life of a 19-year-old man early Sunday morning. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal incident.
The crash involved a 2011 Ford Taurus, driven by the young man from Bartlesville, and a 2020 Volvo semi-truck parked on the outside shoulder of the turnpike. The semi-truck was operated by 26-year-old Parvinder Singh of Greenwood, Indiana.
For reasons still under investigation, the Ford Taurus veered off the roadway and collided with the rear of the parked semi-truck. The impact caused the driver of the Taurus to become pinned inside the vehicle. The Sapulpa Fire Department responded to the scene and worked for approximately one hour to extricate the young man. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-truck driver was reportedly unharmed, and no other injuries were noted. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash, including whether external factors or mechanical issues may have contributed.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this accident, and we wish for their swift and complete recovery.
