Sandy, UT (March 3, 2025) – A six-vehicle pileup on I-15 near 8600 South resulted in multiple injuries and significant traffic disruptions on Saturday afternoon.
According to Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), the crash occurred around noon and led to the closure of three right lanes, causing major slowdowns in the area. Authorities initially reported that they were searching for a hit-and-run suspect; however, this information was later corrected as inaccurate.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, working to assist those involved. Among the injured, a 73-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment, while another individual suffered a broken leg. Additionally, one person complained of chest pain but was not transported for medical care.
Authorities cited two drivers for following too closely, a factor contributing to the pileup. Crews worked to clear the scene, and by 12:45 p.m., portions of the roadway remained blocked as investigations continued.
The cause of the crash is still under active investigation by local law enforcement.

Victims of multi-car collisions may face medical expenses, lost wages, and legal challenges while recovering. In Utah, determining liability in a chain-reaction crash can be complex, requiring a thorough investigation by authorities and legal professionals.
