Sandusky, OH – Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Jeep Wrangler on Cleveland Rd

Sandusky, OH (September 9, 2024) – Charles L. Grissom, 60, died following a motorcycle crash on Sunday, September 8. The collision occurred around 8:15 p.m. at Cleveland Rd and Cowdery St.

Grissom, riding a 1998 Honda VT750, was hit by a 2003 Jeep Wrangler driven by Andrew D. Johnson, 77. Johnson’s Jeep failed to yield while turning left, striking Grissom’s motorcycle. Grissom was not wearing a helmet.

Emergency crews transported Grissom to Firelands Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Johnson, who was wearing his seatbelt, was uninjured. Alcohol and/or drug use may be a factor. The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
