San Jose, CA (November 17, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision occurred early Sunday morning on I-880 Southbound just south of E Brokaw Rd, resulting in injuries and significant lane closures.
The crash was reported at approximately 6:51 AM and involved three vehicles, including a white Chevrolet sedan and a gray sedan. Both vehicles sustained major damage, with the Chevrolet suffering severe front-end damage and the gray sedan having significant rear-end damage. Two lanes (#3 and #4) were blocked as a result of the collision.
Emergency responders, including CHP and medical teams, arrived on the scene by 6:55 AM. Some parties were observed out of their vehicles and lying on the ground. At least one individual was suspected of driving under the influence (HBD). Tow services were dispatched to expedite the removal of the damaged vehicles, and traffic was partially reopened as lanes #1 and #2 remained operational.
The collision remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine the cause and assess any contributing factors.
