San Jose, CA (November 10, 2024) – A severe head-on collision occurred early Sunday morning on southbound US 101 near the Tully Road west offramp, leaving at least one person critically injured. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and San Jose Fire Department responded promptly to the scene following reports of a two-vehicle crash around 5:46 a.m.
The incident involved a tan GMC Hummer and a silver Toyota Corolla. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, with one party reportedly trapped inside their vehicle. Emergency crews worked to extract the trapped individual, eventually freeing the victim as paramedics provided urgent medical care.
At least one lane remained blocked for several hours as authorities managed the scene and coordinated vehicle tows. Two towing companies were contacted to remove the severely damaged vehicles, and the CHP reopened the #2 lane by 6:17 a.m. following their investigation.
Our thoughts are with the individuals and families affected by this accident, and we hope for a swift recovery for the injured.
