San Diego, CA (February 13, 2025) – A residential structure fire broke out early Wednesday morning at 2403 Manzana Way, leaving three people injured. Firefighters responded to the scene at approximately 1:36 a.m. PST after receiving a 911 report of the blaze.

Emergency crews arrived and secured a water source while additional responders assisted in evacuating residents and pets from the burning home. Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene to treat burn victims. Firefighters successfully knocked down the flames by 1:47 a.m. and conducted a primary search of the building to check for anyone still inside.

Crews then worked to ventilate the structure, clearing smoke and ensuring there was no fire extension into the attic. At this time, the severity of the victims’ injuries has not been disclosed, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with those affected, and we hope for a full and speedy recovery for the injured victims.

Structure Fires in California

Residential fires can have devastating consequences, often causing serious injuries, property loss, and emotional distress for those involved. In California, home fires are commonly caused by electrical malfunctions, unattended cooking, heating equipment failures, and accidental ignition of flammable materials.

When a fire occurs, victims may suffer from smoke inhalation, burns, and other injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Those displaced by residential fires may also face significant recovery challenges, including temporary housing needs and financial strain.

Fire safety precautions, such as working smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and evacuation plans, can help prevent injuries and save lives. Homeowners and renters should also ensure electrical systems and heating equipment are regularly inspected to reduce fire risks.
