San Antonio, FL (December 9, 2024) – A tragic three-vehicle crash on Sunday morning claimed the life of a motorcyclist and left two others injured in Pasco County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident occurred around 10:30 AM at the intersection of Old Tampa Bay Dr and State Road 52.

Authorities reported that a 46-year-old man from San Antonio was traveling eastbound on State Road 52 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when a Hyundai Tucson, driven by an 81-year-old San Antonio woman, turned into his path. The collision caused the motorcycle to crash into the Hyundai, redirecting the Hyundai into a semi-truck that was stopped at the intersection.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Hyundai and her 87-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries and received medical attention. The semi-truck driver was unharmed.

The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash. Our thoughts are with the family of the motorcyclist and all those affected by this tragedy.

Motorcycle Accidents in Florida

Motorcyclists face heightened risks on Florida roadways, with accidents often resulting in severe or fatal injuries. Intersections like Old Tampa Bay Dr and State Road 52 are particularly dangerous due to the volume of turning vehicles and traffic flow complexities.

Victims of motorcycle accidents and their families may face significant emotional and financial burdens, including medical costs, loss of income, and funeral expenses. While Florida’s no-fault insurance system provides limited protection, serious injuries or fatalities often necessitate legal action to secure fair compensation for losses.

For those impacted by fatal accidents, it is essential to seek guidance on navigating insurance claims and exploring legal options. Documentation, eyewitness accounts, and prompt action are critical for ensuring accountability and justice.
