Salt Lake City, UT (September 24, 2024) – A serious accident occurred early Sunday morning, September 23, when a 45-year-old woman was critically injured in a collision near the intersection of 400 West and 800 South. The incident took place around 12:07 a.m. when officers on patrol noticed a stopped vehicle with its hazard lights activated.
Upon approaching the scene, officers discovered the woman lying in the roadway with multiple injuries. Emergency responders quickly arrived and transported her to a local hospital, where she was reported to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the woman was riding her bicycle westbound in the eastbound lanes when she collided head-on with the vehicle. The driver of the car involved in the crash is cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Due to the severity of the injuries sustained, the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Team, along with Crime Lab technicians, have been called in to assist with the inquiry.
