Salem, IL (November 6, 2024) – A hit-and-run accident occurred Monday morning in the 100 block of North Broadway in downtown Salem, resulting in injuries. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m. when 58-year-old Nancy Bowlby of East Broadway in Centralia was parked in front of Salem Dermatology.
According to the Salem Police Department, a second vehicle collided with the rear of Bowlby’s car before fleeing the scene. Emergency responders from United Medical Response arrived promptly and transported Bowlby to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Following the incident, Salem Police located the other vehicle involved; however, there was no one present, and the driver remains unidentified. Authorities have reported that Bowlby’s car is likely a total loss, and she was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
