Sacramento, CA (January 13, 2025) – A fatal crash involving a car and multiple motorcycles caused a significant traffic backup on Highway 50 near Stockton Blvd on Sunday morning. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the collision, which occurred around 8:45 a.m., involved one car and 13 motorcycles.
Emergency responders, including paramedics and fire crews, worked to provide care to the injured individuals. Five people were transported to the hospital, with four sustaining major injuries. Tragically, one of the injured individuals succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, according to CHP.
The crash caused westbound Highway 50 to be partially closed for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene. Caltrans has since confirmed that the roads are now fully open to traffic.
