Rubicon, WI (November 21, 2024) – A serious collision between a semi-truck and another vehicle in the town of Rubicon on Tuesday evening left one man facing life-threatening injuries and charges for operating while intoxicated. The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of County Rd N and Goodland Rd, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that a 2021 Infiniti, driven by a 23-year-old Milwaukee man, was traveling northbound on Goodland Rd when it failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a 2024 Western Star semi-truck traveling on County Rd N. The impact pushed the Infiniti into the north ditch, where both vehicles came to rest.
Emergency responders worked to extricate the driver of the Infiniti, who was airlifted via Flight For Life to a nearby hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. The driver, who was arrested for his first offense of operating while intoxicated (OWI), remains hospitalized. The driver of the semi-truck, a 35-year-old man from Wheeling, Illinois, was unharmed and released from the scene after speaking with authorities.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident, and no further details are available at this time.
