The incident led to charges of vehicular assault against the eastbound driver, who authorities believe was impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision.

Washington State Patrol reported that all drivers were immediately taken to the hospital for injuries sustained. The driver facing charges is also among those receiving medical care.
