Rosendale, NY (January 18, 2025) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred on Thursday night along State Route 32, resulting in the death of a Kingston woman. The incident, reported at approximately 8:19 PM EST, involved two vehicles, one of which left the scene.
Victoria Cooper, 37, entered the roadway and was struck by a northbound 2013 Toyota, according to New York State Police. The impact knocked Cooper into the southbound lane, where she was subsequently run over by an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene. The driver of the Toyota remained at the location and contacted authorities.
Emergency medical services arrived promptly and administered life-saving measures; however, Cooper succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
State police are actively searching for the driver of the unidentified vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at (845) 338-1702. Tips will remain confidential.
