Fire officials responded to the scene at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the 9300 block of South King Drive, where they found a fire in a two-story townhouse.

The victim, identified as Evelyn Wilson, was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in “grave” condition. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:13 p.m., according to fire officials and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
