Rolesville, NC (December 9, 2024) – A devastating house fire west of Rolesville on Saturday afternoon left a wheelchair-bound woman severely injured and three others hospitalized, according to the Wake County Fire Marshal.
The fire was reported at approximately 3:15 p.m. at a mobile home located at 4904 Rocky Knoll Lane, near Burlington Mills Rd and U.S. 401 Business. Four adults were inside the home at the time of the blaze, and all were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
Firefighters worked swiftly to rescue the wheelchair-bound woman from the burning structure. She sustained severe burns and was transported to the North Carolina Burn Center in Chapel Hill for specialized care. On Sunday morning, officials confirmed that two of the other injured individuals were released from local hospitals, while the third is expected to be discharged on Monday.
The mobile home was completely destroyed by the fire. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze, which remains under investigation.
