Hit-and-Run Accidents in Illinois
Hit-and-run accidents, like the one recently reported in Rockford, are among the most devastating types of crashes. The failure of a driver to stop and provide aid or information often leaves victims in critical condition without immediate assistance. Illinois law requires drivers involved in collisions to remain at the scene and assist injured parties.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), hit-and-run incidents account for a significant percentage of accidents each year, many of which result in severe injuries or fatalities. Urban areas such as Rockford are prone to these incidents due to high traffic density and pedestrian activity.
Families impacted by hit-and-run accidents often face emotional and financial challenges. Seeking legal assistance and pursuing justice can help ensure the responsible parties’ accountability and support the affected families.
