Weather-Related Crashes in Rochester
Rochester’s winter weather conditions, including snow, ice, and reduced visibility, often contribute to vehicle crashes, particularly at night when roads become more treacherous. Slippery road surfaces and poor traction frequently lead to loss of control, longer stopping distances, and increased accident risks.
New York crash data indicates that weather-related accidents account for a significant portion of roadway fatalities each year. Officials urge drivers to reduce speeds, maintain safe following distances, and use extra caution during inclement weather to prevent accidents.
