The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 PM, involving a 2007 Ford Edge and a 2008 GMC Envoy. According to authorities, the Ford Edge was traveling eastbound on Highway 14, while the GMC Envoy was traveling westbound on Highway 14, attempting to make a left turn onto southbound Highway 52 when the two vehicles collided.

Emergency responders, including Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department, and MCAS, arrived at the scene to assist those involved. The driver of the Ford Edge, identified as Elijah Ramel Kelly, 26, of Rochester, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor in the incident. The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Our thoughts are with those affected, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured party.

Car Accidents in Minnesota

Highway collisions, particularly at intersections and highway ramps like Hwy 14 and Hwy 52, are common in Minnesota, often resulting from left-turn accidents, failure to yield, or driver miscalculations. Even when seat belts and airbags are used, these types of crashes can lead to serious injuries.

Victims involved in highway crashes may face medical expenses, vehicle damage, and lost income due to their injuries. Minnesota law allows injured parties to seek compensation if another driver’s negligence contributed to the accident. Ensuring proper documentation, including police reports, medical records, and eyewitness accounts, is essential when pursuing legal options.

If you or a loved one has been injured in an accident, seeking medical attention and legal guidance can be crucial in ensuring your rights are protected.
