Richmond, VA (December 25, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle accident with multiple people trapped occurred Tuesday evening at the intersection of North Ave and Claremont Ave. Emergency crews acted swiftly to extricate the occupants and provide medical assistance.
Engine 16 arrived first to confirm three individuals were trapped inside the vehicles. Truck-6 stabilized the vehicles to facilitate safe extrication, and Rescue-2 began the complex task of freeing the trapped occupants. Richmond Ambulance Authority assessed four patients at the scene, including two adults and two children, all classified as “yellow patients,” indicating moderate injuries. Additional ambulances were requested to ensure all patients received prompt transport to local medical facilities.
Battalion 2 took command of the operation, coordinating the rescue, stabilization, and medical response efforts. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
