Richmond, VA (October 1, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred early Sunday morning, September 29, in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old man. The incident took place around 2:08 AM, approximately 200 feet north of Broad Street.
According to the Virginia State Police, a 2012 Hyundai Elantra was traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-95 when it collided head-on with a 2016 BMW 6. The impact caused the Hyundai to spin out, and it was subsequently struck again by a 2021 Honda Civic.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Liam Oliver Mancuso Palma of Henrico, tragically died at the scene. Reports indicate that he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the BMW was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Honda was unharmed.
