Richardson, TX (December 18, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run crash resulted in the death of a pedestrian early Wednesday morning on the access road of South Central Expressway at the intersection of West Spring Valley Rd. Richardson Police continue to investigate the incident.
The crash occurred around 1:55 a.m. when a Cadillac SUV traveling northbound on Frontage Rd collided with a Kia sedan heading westbound on West Spring Valley Rd. According to police, the Cadillac driver allegedly ran a red light, causing the collision. After the impact, the Cadillac continued forward and struck a pedestrian who was walking in a marked crosswalk.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
Following the collision, two individuals fled the scene on foot. Officers apprehended one suspect, while the second remains at large. The driver of the Kia sedan was unharmed in the incident.
