Redland, FL (November 11, 2024) – Authorities are searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run collision that tragically claimed the life of 46-year-old Alexis Muñoz, a father of three, on Monday morning in the Redland area of Miami-Dade County. The incident occurred at 208th Street and 194th Avenue.
Miami-Dade Police revealed that the vehicle involved first struck a building at 232nd Street and 194th Avenue before fatally hitting Muñoz on his scooter and fleeing the scene. Muñoz, who had moved to the United States from Cuba just six months ago, was riding with his wife and dropping her off at work when the crash happened.
Muñoz and his wife both worked at Costa Farms, according to his cousin Yaicel Santana, who expressed the family’s deep grief. “I’m feeling a profound sadness for what has happened to him. We’re in shock. It’s extremely difficult,” Santana said.
