Redding, CA (November 17, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred early Sunday morning on the I-5 Northbound offramp near Cypress Ave, resulting in a fatality.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the incident at approximately 5:38 AM, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. A white Ford vehicle sustained windshield damage, indicating the severity of the impact. Emergency responders, including fire crews and medical personnel, were dispatched to the scene. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries.
The northbound offramp was temporarily closed to facilitate the emergency response and investigation. Tow services were requested to remove the involved vehicle, and cleanup crews were notified to address roadway conditions.
