Reading, PA (December 25, 2024) – A tragic fire on Monday evening at a residence located at 540 Walnut St in Reading claimed one life. Firefighters responded to the scene after a report of a working fire with flames visible from a second-floor window. Box 0304 was activated for the incident, which required a swift and coordinated response from multiple emergency units.
First responders, including Reading Fire and Rescue crews, worked diligently to extinguish the blaze and secure the area. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, one individual was found deceased at the scene. The fatality has been classified as a Class 5 incident.
