Ray County, MO (February 28, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash in Ray County left one person injured late Thursday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 11:23 a.m. on MO-10 near Todd Chapel Rd. Authorities reported that a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by a 65-year-old man from Orrick, crossed the center of the roadway and collided with a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan traveling eastbound.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene and provided care to the 36-year-old driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan, who sustained moderate injuries. He was transported to Liberty Hospital by Ray County EMS for further medical evaluation. The condition of the 65-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was not specified in the report.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene by R & L Shoemaker Tow. Law enforcement officials, including the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, assisted in managing the crash site. The investigation remains ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim, and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Head-On Collisions in Missouri

Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of accidents, often leading to severe injuries due to the force of impact. In Missouri, crashes caused by vehicles crossing the centerline can result from driver distraction, impairment, fatigue, or poor road conditions.

When a vehicle drifts out of its lane, even for a moment, the consequences can be devastating. Drivers should always remain alert, avoid distractions, and adhere to traffic laws to prevent tragic outcomes. In this crash on MO-10, investigators will likely assess whether factors such as driver fatigue or a medical emergency contributed to the collision.

Even when injuries are classified as moderate, accident victims may require ongoing medical care and face financial burdens due to lost wages and medical expenses. Those injured in head-on collisions may have legal options to seek compensation for their damages.
