Ragley, LA (February 13, 2025) – Louisiana State Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of 17-year-old Jodie Cannon of Longville early Sunday morning.
The crash occurred on February 9, 2025, shortly before 4:00 a.m. on U.S. Highway 171 near A.D. Hodges Road. According to preliminary reports, Cannon was in the right southbound lane of US-171 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver involved in the crash fled the scene before authorities arrived.
Tragically, Cannon suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Since the incident, Louisiana State Police Troop D, alongside detectives from the Bureau of Investigations – Sulphur Field Office, have been actively following leads to identify the driver responsible. Investigators have reportedly identified a possible suspect vehicle and driver, but further forensic analysis is still underway.
