Queensbury, NY (October 5, 2024) – A serious motor vehicle accident occurred on Wednesday morning, October 2, involving a dump truck and a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported they received a call regarding the collision around 6:45 AM on State Route 9, near the I-87 Exit 20.
Chris A. Morris, 42, of Glens Falls, was driving a 2018 Ford F-150 northbound on State Route 9 when he reportedly passed through a red light at the intersection with the Exit 20 off-ramp. At the same time, Christopher M. Grey, 49, of Queensbury, was operating a 2005 International Harvester dump truck, exiting the Northway. Witnesses indicated that Morris was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the dump truck.
The impact caused significant damage to the Ford F-150, and Morris sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. It was reported that he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Emergency responders treated Morris on the scene before transporting him via helicopter to Albany Medical Center for further medical care. Fortunately, Grey was uninjured in the incident.
