Queens, NY (January 29, 2025) – Two officers were hospitalized following a collision involving an NYPD Highway Patrol car and an MTA Bridges and Tunnel vehicle late Tuesday night.
The accident occurred just before 11 p.m. on the Queens side of the Queens-Midtown Tunnel. Emergency crews, including FDNY personnel, responded swiftly, working to remove the injured officers from their vehicles. Both were transported to Bellevue Hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.
The crash led to a temporary closure of the tunnel while rescue efforts were underway. However, authorities have since reopened the roadway. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision.
