Puyallup, WA (December 23, 2024) – An 18-year-old and a 2-year-old were hospitalized after being struck by a car in a pedestrian crash near the intersection of 12th Avenue Northwest and 15th Street Northwest on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m., prompting a swift response from Puyallup police and Central Pierce Fire & Rescue crews.
When authorities arrived, they found the two pedestrians with serious injuries. Emergency personnel transported the victims to a hospital in Tacoma for treatment.
The driver, a 32-year-old man, had two juveniles in his vehicle at the time of the crash. Neither the driver nor his passengers were injured. However, police determined that the driver showed signs of narcotic intoxication and arrested him at the scene. He was taken to Pierce County Jail and faces potential charges of DUI, two counts of vehicular assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, and driving without a license.
