Putnam, CT (November 24, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Saturday evening on Route 44 in Putnam, resulting in the death of a 68-year-old pedestrian. According to Connecticut State Police, the crash happened around 6 p.m. when the pedestrian was struck by a westbound Ford Fusion.
The victim, identified as Leo Blaine of Putnam, was walking along Route 44 when he was hit by the vehicle driven by a 58-year-old woman from Webster, Massachusetts. Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene, but Blaine succumbed to his injuries.
