Punxsutawney, PA (September 30, 2024) – A working structure fire broke out on the third floor of a residence located at 210 Pine Street on September 30, 2024. The Spirit/Punxsutawney Fire Department received a 20-A Box alarm, prompting a rapid response from multiple fire companies, including Central, Elk Run, Lindsey, Big Run, and McCalmont.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the flames, preventing further damage to the structure. During the incident, they successfully rescued two occupants and their dogs from the burning building. One female occupant was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS for evaluation and treatment.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the State Police Fire Marshal.
