Pueblo, CO (March 6, 2025) – A person sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a BNSF train north of Pueblo on Wednesday night, according to the Pueblo Fire Department.
Emergency crews from multiple agencies, including the Pueblo Fire Department, Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, BNSF Police, West Park Fire, and Pueblo West Fire, worked together to locate the injured individual after BNSF reported the crash to 9-1-1.
Once the person was located, emergency responders provided immediate medical treatment before a UCHealth Lifeline helicopter airlifted the patient to a nearby hospital. The victim’s current condition remains unknown.
Authorities have not released details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
