Provo, UT (October 2, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred early Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist involved. The crash took place just after 6 a.m. on October 2, near the intersection of 800 North and 500 West.
According to Provo City Police Department spokesperson Janna-Lee Holland, the incident occurred when a car was making a left turn from 500 West onto 800 North. The oncoming motorcycle collided with the side of the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene, and the motorcyclist was transported to Utah Valley Hospital. Unfortunately, Holland confirmed that the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators as they worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident. The intersection was closed for approximately two hours and 30 minutes while the Provo City Police Department conducted their investigation and cleared the area. All roads have since reopened to traffic.
