Prinsburg, MN (September 18, 2024) – An injury accident occurred on Highway 7, approximately half a mile west of Prinsburg, on September 16. The incident involved multiple vehicles and resulted in several individuals being transported to a medical facility for treatment.
According to reports, a 2022 Ford Explorer, driven by 34-year-old Chelsey Caitlin Burg from Montevideo, was traveling westbound on Highway 7 when a 2006 Chevy Impala, driven by a 16-year-old male, was headed eastbound. The Impala crossed the center line, causing the Explorer to swerve off the road. The Explorer then struck two unoccupied vehicles—a 1997 Ford F150 and a 2019 Freightliner Cascade—parked in a nearby parking lot.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, where the road conditions were reported as dry. First responders assessed the situation and provided necessary medical assistance to those involved in the accident.
Chelsey Burg, along with her passengers, 33-year-old Jason Lee Howard from Benson and a 16-year-old male juvenile, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Willmar Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. All occupants of the Explorer were reported to have been wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, and no alcohol was involved.
The driver of the Impala was unharmed and did not require medical attention. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this accident, especially those who may be dealing with the aftermath of the injuries sustained.
