Pedestrian Accidents on Highways in Ohio
Pedestrian accidents on highways are particularly dangerous due to high vehicle speeds and limited reaction time for drivers. While most pedestrian incidents occur at crosswalks or intersections, highway-related crashes often involve unexpected situations such as disabled vehicles, construction workers, or individuals attempting to cross the roadway.
Ohio law requires drivers to remain vigilant and yield to pedestrians when necessary. However, pedestrians must also exercise caution and avoid walking on highways whenever possible. Wearing reflective clothing and staying clear of moving traffic can help reduce the risk of being struck.
In cases of pedestrian accidents, victims may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages. If you or a loved one has been injured in a pedestrian accident, seeking legal guidance can help ensure your rights are protected and that you receive the support needed for recovery.
