Preble County, OH (January 16, 2025) – A man sustained serious injuries in a head-on crash involving a pickup truck and a semi on U.S. 127 Thursday morning. The collision occurred in the 4000 block of the highway shortly before 9:20 AM, according to Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson.
Witnesses at the scene reported that a northbound pickup truck crossed the center line and collided with a southbound semi. The impact left the pickup truck driver trapped in his vehicle for approximately an hour as firefighters worked diligently to extricate him. Sheriff Simpson stated that the driver was conscious when transported to a local hospital but suffered “very serious” injuries.
The driver of the semi was also transported to a hospital but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation as deputies work to determine why the pickup truck veered into oncoming traffic.
