Porter Township, MI (December 21, 2024) – Four individuals, including two drivers and two passengers, sustained injuries in a crash at the intersection of M-40 and Shavehead Lake Rd on Friday evening. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident occurred at approximately 5:44 p.m.
According to initial findings, Christopher Bingaman, 39, of Constantine, was traveling north on M-40 when another vehicle driven by Thomas Yoder, 22, of Shipshewana, Indiana, failed to yield to oncoming traffic. The two vehicles collided, causing Bingaman’s car to veer off the roadway and come to a stop in a nearby field. Emergency responders were quick to the scene to provide care to the injured victims.
Bingaman and his two passengers, Matthew Walter, 39, of Three Rivers, and a juvenile, were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
