Poplar Bluff, MO (November 9, 2024) – Emergency crews responded to a serious single-vehicle accident along County Rd 523, approximately four miles north of Poplar Bluff, around 7 p.m. on Friday.
A 19-year-old female driver from Poplar Bluff lost control of her 2014 Chevrolet Cruze while traveling south. The vehicle veered off the roadway, ultimately striking a tree. A 20-year-old passenger from Doniphan was also in the car at the time of the crash.
Both individuals sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to regional hospitals for advanced medical treatment. The Chevrolet Cruze was declared totaled as a result of the collision. Local authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the contributing factors.
