Pontiac, MI (March 9, 2025) – A 37-year-old man was fatally struck by a truck while crossing the road Friday night in Pontiac, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:38 p.m. when Charles Arnold O’Connor, of Flint, was crossing Baldwin Road near Virginia Avenue. A Ford F-150, driven by a 16-year-old girl, struck O’Connor as he was in the roadway.
Deputies arrived at the scene to find bystanders attempting CPR on the victim. Emergency personnel transported O’Connor to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the truck was not injured. Authorities stated that she was not speeding and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
An autopsy for O’Connor has been scheduled. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
