Polk, MO (September 22, 2024) – A multi-vehicle accident occurred on September 21, 2024, at approximately 5:13 p.m. on MO 32, located three miles west of Halfway. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a collision involving three vehicles.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a 1980 Pontiac Firebird was broken down and blocking the eastbound lane of MO 32. The driver of a 2012 Honda Ridgeline, identified as 30-year-old Macey M. Casteel from Pittsburg, MO, was traveling eastbound when she struck the rear of the parked Pontiac. This impact caused the Ridgeline to cross the center of the roadway and collide with a westbound 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by 48-year-old Tracie M. York from Bolivar, MO.
The collision resulted in significant damage to all three vehicles, with both the Honda Ridgeline and Chevrolet Monte Carlo being towed from the scene by B & B Wrecker, while the Pontiac Firebird was towed by Backwoods Towing. Fortunately, Macey Casteel was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. However, Tracie York, also wearing her seatbelt, sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Springfield for medical evaluation and treatment.
