Pocatello, ID (January 25, 2025) – Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:59 p.m. on Interstate 15, south of Pocatello, near milepost 65. The collision involved a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2018 Ford F150, resulting in injuries to multiple individuals.
A 48-year-old woman from Lava Hot Springs was driving the Equinox southbound on I-15 when she encountered traffic merging into a single lane due to an earlier crash. The Equinox rear-ended the Ford F150, which was driven by a 60-year-old woman and had a 72-year-old male passenger, both from Soda Springs.
The collision caused both vehicles to veer off the road. The Equinox overturned before coming to a stop. Emergency responders, including Pocatello EMS, transported all occupants via ground ambulances to a local hospital. Authorities confirmed that all individuals were wearing seat belts except for the Ford’s passenger. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
Our thoughts are with those involved in this accident, and we hope for their full recovery.
Rear-End Collisions on Idaho Roadways
Rear-end collisions, like the one on Interstate 15, are common in traffic congestion zones, especially when lanes merge or traffic slows unexpectedly. According to the Idaho Transportation Department, rear-end crashes are among the most frequent types of vehicle accidents, often caused by distracted driving, speeding, or failure to account for changing road conditions.
Victims of such accidents may face physical injuries, emotional distress, and financial burdens, including medical bills and lost wages. Idaho law allows injured parties to seek compensation for damages caused by another driver’s negligence. This includes covering medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and other related damages.
If you or someone you know has been injured in a rear-end collision, it is critical to seek medical attention, document all aspects of the incident, and consult with experienced professionals to protect your rights and explore legal options.
