Platte County, MO (November 24, 2024) – An accident involving three vehicles resulted in multiple injuries on Friday evening on Interstate 29 northbound at the 21.4-mile marker. The crash, reported at approximately 8:18 PM, prompted an immediate response from local emergency teams and law enforcement officials.
Emergency responders from Platte County, including paramedics, worked to provide medical care to the individuals involved. According to authorities, the collision began when a 2018 Dodge Journey, traveling northbound, collided with the rear of a 2002 Honda Pilot. Debris from this impact struck a third vehicle, a 2015 Ford Transit, traveling in the same direction.
The Dodge Journey sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene by Express Tow. Its driver, a 34-year-old woman from Kansas City, KS, suffered minor injuries and was transported by NRAD to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment. A 59-year-old female passenger in the Honda Pilot also sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, MO. Both the Honda Pilot and the Ford Transit incurred minor damage and were driven from the scene.
The crash caused a temporary disruption to traffic on I-29, as cleanup crews and investigators worked to clear debris and assess the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, with assistance from additional troopers, is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
