Pittsfield Township, MI (January 7, 2025) – A tragic accident claimed the life of 26-year-old Hanin Mohammed Soby on Monday evening as she was crossing Carpenter Road near Packard Road in Pittsfield Township. The incident occurred around 6:15 PM, according to the Pittsfield Township Police Department.
Authorities reported that Soby was crossing the street against a red “do not cross” signal when she was struck by a southbound vehicle. Shortly after, a second vehicle also struck her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both drivers involved in the crash stopped and cooperated with law enforcement. Neither sustained injuries. Police confirmed that the drivers had a green light at the time of the incident.
The crash remains under investigation. Officials are urging anyone with information to contact the Pittsfield Township Police Department’s confidential tip line.
