Pickens County, SC (December 10, 2024) – A cyclist was tragically killed Monday night after being struck by a car on Saluda Dam Road near Easley. The crash occurred around 8:05 PM, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported that the cyclist, later identified as 25-year-old John Adrian Reese of Easley, was riding along Saluda Dam Road when a 2011 Honda SUV struck him. Witnesses called 911 after finding the victim unconscious in the road. Bystanders performed CPR until EMS arrived, but Reese was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Pickens County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
