Phoenix, AZ (January 17, 2025) – A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the life of a rider on Wednesday, according to the Phoenix Police Department. The collision occurred around 4:00 PM at the intersection of Indian School Rd and 23rd Ave when a motorcycle and an SUV collided.
The motorcycle rider, identified as 55-year-old Stephen Franklin, was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Authorities stated that the driver of the SUV pulled out of a private driveway, striking Franklin. Emergency responders from the Phoenix Fire Department transported Franklin to a hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication. Phoenix Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision.
