Phoenix, AZ (January 7, 2025) – An 18-year-old man lost his life in a tragic crash at a construction site near 7th Street and Sonoran Desert Drive over the weekend. The Phoenix Police Department responded to the incident, which occurred on Saturday afternoon around 2:00 PM.
Authorities identified the victim as Omar Marino Alonso, who was found with “obvious signs of trauma” near a damaged truck at the site. Phoenix Fire Department personnel pronounced Alonso deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Alonso was driving a truck down a hill when he lost control, causing the vehicle to roll over. Police believe speed was a contributing factor to the crash.
