Perry Twp, OH (February 18, 2025) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that occurred on Monday afternoon in Stark County. The accident happened at approximately 3:11 p.m. on State Route 172 near Perry Drive.
According to authorities, a 1994 Chevrolet Geo Metro was traveling east on State Route 172 when the driver reportedly failed to yield while making a left turn onto Perry Drive. The vehicle was then struck by a westbound 2019 Chrysler Pacifica.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and transported the driver of the Geo Metro, identified as 54-year-old Tracy Broyles of Canton, to Aultman Hospital. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced dead from her injuries. A 26-year-old passenger in the Geo Metro sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
The 33-year-old driver of the Pacifica, a woman from Franklin, along with two children in the vehicle, was transported to Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
