Perry County, MO (February 4, 2025) – A 19-year-old driver was killed late Monday night in a crash on US 61 after losing control of his vehicle and striking multiple stationary cars.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:52 p.m. on southbound US 61, just north of Route NN. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD was traveling south when the driver lost control. The truck veered off the left side of the road and crashed into a parked 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The impact caused the Silverado to overturn, striking three additional parked vehicles before coming to rest against the porch of a residence.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from St. Mary, MO, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:34 a.m. by Mercy Ambulance District EMT Jesse Martin. His body was transported to Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
Authorities, including the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and Perryville Police Department, assisted in the investigation.
